

Loyalty: Generate and redeem coupon codes
What’s new: You and your loyalty program members can now generate coupon codes that they can use whenever they order from any of your ordering channels. They can opt to use their points for discounts or convert them to cash credit at your restaurant. All they need to do is log in to their loyalty portal with their account and generate coupon codes using their points. These codes can then be used whenever they order online, in-store, or at a kiosk.

Why it matters: Your customers can now manage and redeem their loyalty points however and whenever they want.

Marketing: New discount management
What’s new: The new Discounts tab in the Marketing app allows you to create or update both your Otter POS and Online Ordering discounts in one place. All the discount configurations for each channel are still there – customize discounts based on discount type, duration, and more.
Why it matters: Before this release, creating and managing discounts for your Otter POS and Online Ordering were handled separately.


Otter POS: Required customer info settings
What’s new: If you’re a new Otter POS customer, you can now mark certain fields as optional when collecting guest information. These fields will no longer be required when creating a new guest, adding a guest, or sending an order. Each fulfillment mode will have its own fields that you can choose from. To select optional and required fields, just head to the settings page of your POS app in your Otter Dashboard.
Why it matters: Streamline your operations and help your staff take orders faster by requiring only the information that’s useful to you. You’ll also be able to ensure the information you collect is consistent.

Loyalty: Earned points SMS
What’s new: Your customers will now receive text updates of the points they earned when they order from any of your ordering channels. This is on top of the standard order status text message they receive after every order.
Why it matters: Customers will appreciate knowing how many points they earned from their order.

Online Ordering: Dietary restrictions
What’s new: Your menu items on your online ordering channel will now show dietary restrictions and allergen information that you set up in the Menus app. Recall how to do that here.
Why it matters: Ensure your customers have all the information they need and comply with local regulations by having these details on your online ordering website.
